> This test measures the amount of calcium in your blood, a mineral essential for healthy bones, muscles, and nerve function. It helps evaluate how well your kidneys, bones, and parathyroid glands are working, especially if you have symptoms like fatigue, kidney stones, or muscle weakness. Doctors use this result to help screen for or monitor conditions such as kidney disease, parathyroid disorders, and bone problems. However, an abnormal level does not identify the specific cause of the imbalance without further testing.
