# Albumin

> This test measures the level of albumin, a major protein produced by your liver that keeps fluid from leaking out of your blood vessels. It helps show how well your liver and kidneys are functioning and indicates if your body is absorbing enough protein. Doctors use these results to help evaluate conditions like liver disease, kidney disorders, or malnutrition. However, this test cannot identify the specific cause of an abnormal level by itself and is usually interpreted alongside other laboratory results.
