Fibrinogen Activity

This test measures the activity of fibrinogen, a protein produced by the liver that is essential for blood clotting. It helps determine if your blood can clot properly, which is useful for investigating unexplained bleeding or abnormal clotting times. Doctors use these results to look for inherited bleeding disorders or conditions where the body uses up clotting proteins too fast. However, this test cannot diagnose a specific disease on its own, as factors like inflammation, pregnancy, or liver health can also affect fibrinogen levels.
