This test measures the levels of three specific types of antibodies in your blood, which are proteins the immune system uses to fight bacteria and viruses. It helps show how well your immune system is functioning, particularly if you experience frequent infections or unexplained inflammation. Doctors use these results to help rule out immune deficiencies and certain blood disorders. However, this test alone cannot identify the specific germ causing an infection or diagnose a specific autoimmune disease without further testing.
