> This test measures the level of Immunoglobulin G (IgG), the most common type of antibody your immune system creates to fight bacteria and viruses. It helps show whether your body has enough protection against illness, which is useful if you suffer from frequent or severe infections. Doctors use these results to evaluate immune system strength or to monitor conditions that affect protein levels in the blood. However, this test alone cannot diagnose a specific disease or identify exactly which infection you currently have.
