Folate (Folic Acid)
This test measures the amount of folate, also known as vitamin B9, circulating in your blood. It helps show whether you have enough of this nutrient to support healthy red blood cell production and tissue repair. Doctors often use this measurement to evaluate symptoms like fatigue or weakness and to help distinguish between different types of anemia. While it detects a deficiency, this test alone cannot determine the specific reason why your levels are low.
