# Immunoglobulin D, Quantitative

> This test measures the amount of Immunoglobulin D (IgD), a specific type of antibody protein in your blood. It helps show if your body is producing too much of this protein, which can occur with recurrent fevers or specific immune system problems. Doctors use these results to help evaluate for rare conditions such as IgD multiple myeloma or Hyper-IgD Syndrome. However, this test cannot diagnose these diseases on its own and must be reviewed alongside other clinical findings.
