# Creatinine Clearance

> This test measures how efficiently your kidneys filter creatinine, a waste product from normal muscle activity, out of your blood and into your urine. It helps show how well your kidneys are functioning to clean your blood and is often used to determine safe dosages for medications processed by the kidneys. These results assist doctors in evaluating potential kidney dysfunction or monitoring changes in kidney health over time. However, this test alone does not identify the specific underlying cause of kidney damage or diagnose a specific disease.
