Phosphorus, 24-Hour Urine
This test measures the total amount of phosphorus released in your urine over a full 24-hour period. It helps show how well your kidneys are regulating minerals and maintaining the balance between calcium and phosphorus needed for healthy bones. Doctors use these results to investigate the cause of kidney stones or to check for issues with the parathyroid glands and vitamin D levels. However, this test does not provide a standalone diagnosis, as high or low levels can sometimes simply reflect changes in your diet.
