> This test measures the level of amylase, a digestive enzyme produced by the pancreas, in your urine. It helps show whether the pancreas is inflamed or damaged, which is often investigated when a patient has severe abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting. This measurement is useful for identifying conditions like pancreatitis or pancreatic cysts, sometimes detecting issues even after blood test results have returned to normal. However, an elevated level does not identify the specific cause of the inflammation or diagnose other abdominal conditions on its own.
