Progesterone

This test measures the level of progesterone, a hormone produced by the ovaries after an egg is released. It helps determine if ovulation has occurred and evaluates whether the body is producing enough hormones to support a pregnancy. Doctors often use this measurement to investigate causes of infertility or to check the health of the placenta during early pregnancy.
