It helps show whether the body is producing excess male hormones, which can explain symptoms like excessive body hair, irregular menstrual cycles, or early puberty. Doctors use these results to help distinguish between adrenal gland disorders, ovarian issues like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and other hormonal conditions. However, this test alone cannot identify the specific cause of the imbalance or diagnose a tumor without further medical evaluation.
