> This test counts the number of red blood cells in your blood, which are responsible for carrying oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body. It helps show whether your body has enough cells to deliver oxygen effectively, which is often checked if you feel unusually tired or weak. The results help doctors identify conditions like anemia, where counts are low, or polycythemia, where counts are too high. However, an abnormal count alone does not reveal the specific cause of the problem, such as iron deficiency or internal bleeding, without further testing.
