# Antibody Screen

> This test looks for unexpected antibodies in your blood that target foreign red blood cells. It is primarily used during pregnancy or before a blood transfusion to determine if your immune system might attack donor blood or a developing baby's cells. This screening helps doctors assess the risk of a reaction caused by blood type incompatibility. However, this test alone does not identify the specific name of the antibody or detect every possible type of antibody that exists.
