Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Antibodies, IgG
This test looks for IgG antibodies in your blood to see if you have ever been infected with Cytomegalovirus (CMV). Since these antibodies stay in your body for life, the test helps confirm if you have a history of exposure to the virus. This distinction is important for determining your risk level during pregnancy or if you have a weakened immune system. However, a positive result only indicates past exposure and does not diagnose an active or recent infection on its own.
