Parasite Examination, Whole Blood

This test looks for parasites, such as those that cause malaria, circulating in your blood. It helps show whether a fever or unexplained illness is caused by a blood-borne parasitic infection. This examination assists doctors in distinguishing between parasitic diseases and other causes of fever. However, a single negative result does not guarantee you are infection-free, as the number of parasites in the blood can change over time.
