# Follicle-stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH)

> This test measures the levels of two hormones produced by the brain that control the reproductive system and the production of eggs or sperm. It helps show how well the ovaries or testicles are functioning and is often used to investigate causes of infertility, irregular menstrual cycles, or puberty timing. Doctors use these results to help identify conditions like early menopause or hormonal imbalances caused by the pituitary gland. However, these measurements alone cannot diagnose a specific disease or determine the exact cause of fertility issues without further evaluation.
