> This test measures the level of vitamin B3, also known as niacin, and its breakdown products in your blood. It helps show whether you are getting enough of this nutrient to support healthy skin, digestion, and nerve function. Doctors use these results to check for a deficiency that could cause rashes and confusion, or to see if you have too much niacin from supplements. However, a result showing abnormal levels does not explain the underlying cause of the imbalance on its own.
