Cobalt, Urine

This test measures the amount of cobalt in your urine to check for recent exposure to this metal. It helps show whether you have absorbed unsafe levels of cobalt, which can occur in certain industrial work environments or from wear on metal joint implants. Doctors use this result to help rule out cobalt poisoning as the cause of symptoms like skin rashes or breathing difficulties. However, this test only indicates exposure levels and cannot by itself diagnose specific organ damage or identify exactly where the cobalt came from.
