This test detects hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying protein usually found inside red blood cells, in your urine. It helps show whether red blood cells are breaking down or if there is bleeding within the urinary tract. Doctors use this result to screen for conditions such as kidney stones, infections, or blood disorders. However, this test does not identify the specific location or cause of the bleeding by itself.
