Calcitriol (1,25 di-OH Vitamin D)
This test measures the amount of calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D produced by the kidneys, in your blood. It helps show how well your body is converting vitamin D to regulate calcium levels and support bone health. Doctors often use these results to help evaluate parathyroid gland function or kidney disorders affecting the bones. However, this test is not the standard method for checking general vitamin D deficiency, which is usually measured using a different form of the vitamin.
