Acetylcholine Receptor (AChR)-blocking Antibodies

This test measures specific antibodies in your blood that block the chemical signals your nerves send to your muscles. It helps show if your immune system is interfering with muscle control, which is often investigated when a person has unexplained muscle weakness or drooping eyelids. Doctors use these results to help evaluate for Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune disorder affecting muscle strength. However, this test cannot diagnose the condition on its own, as some people with the disorder may not have these specific antibodies.
