Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) IgG, Immunity Status

This test measures specific antibodies in your blood that target the Varicella Zoster Virus, which causes chickenpox and shingles. It helps determine if your immune system has developed protection against the virus, usually indicating a past infection. This information confirms whether you are immune or if you remain susceptible to catching the disease. However, this test does not diagnose an active infection and may not reliably detect immunity resulting from vaccination.
