Anti-DNase B (Streptococcal) Antibodies
This test measures the level of antibodies your immune system creates in response to Group A Streptococcus bacteria. It helps show whether you have had a recent strep infection, which is useful if you have symptoms like joint pain or kidney problems that can occur weeks after the initial illness. Doctors use this result to see if a past infection is the cause of current inflammation, especially if a standard throat swab was negative. However, this test does not diagnose an active case of strep throat or confirm specific complications by itself.
