> This test measures the amount of mumps IgG antibodies in your blood, which are proteins the immune system creates for long-term protection after vaccination or past illness. It helps show whether you have developed immunity to the mumps virus. This result helps distinguish between individuals who are protected and those who may still be at risk of infection. However, this test only indicates past exposure or vaccination and cannot diagnose a currently active mumps infection.
