> This test measures specific proteins in your blood called IgG antibodies that target the measles virus. Your body produces these antibodies after you receive a vaccination or recover from a past measles infection. The results help determine if you are currently immune to the virus or if you are still susceptible to catching the disease. This test identifies past exposure or vaccination response but cannot diagnose a new, active measles infection on its own.
