> This test detects antibodies, which are proteins your immune system creates to fight Candida, a common type of yeast. It helps show whether your body is reacting to a widespread fungal infection, often called systemic candidiasis. This information assists doctors in evaluating if unexplained symptoms are related to invasive yeast growth. However, because this yeast lives naturally in many parts of the body, this test cannot definitively diagnose an active infection on its own.
