> This test estimates how well your kidneys filter waste from your blood by analyzing the level of creatinine, a normal waste product from your muscles. It helps show whether your kidneys are working properly or if their ability to clean your blood has decreased. This calculation is a key tool for identifying stages of chronic kidney disease. However, it cannot diagnose the specific reason for kidney trouble or provide a precise measurement for individuals with very high or very low muscle mass.
