> This test measures the amount of sugar attached to hemoglobin in your red blood cells to estimate your average blood sugar level over the past two to three months. It includes a calculation called estimated Average Glucose (eAG) to help you compare this long-term average with the numbers you see on daily home glucose meters. This helps show whether your current diabetes management plan is keeping your blood sugar within a healthy range. While it provides a broad overview of your glucose control, it does not show specific daily highs and lows or replace the need for daily testing.
