Protein Electrophoresis, Serum and Quantitative Free κ and λ Light Chains (FLC) Plus Ratio, Serum

This test measures specific proteins in your blood, including antibodies and parts of antibodies called light chains, to see if they are being produced in abnormal amounts. It helps doctors investigate symptoms like unexplained bone pain, fatigue, or kidney issues by checking for irregular proteins made by your immune cells. These results help identify or rule out disorders affecting plasma cells, such as multiple myeloma. However, this test alone cannot confirm a specific diagnosis or determine the exact cause of abnormal protein levels without further medical evaluation.
