Lipoprotein-associated Phospholipase A2 Activity

This test measures the activity of Lp-PLA2, an enzyme associated with inflammation in your blood vessels. It helps show whether fatty deposits in your arteries are likely to rupture, which increases the risk of a blockage. Doctors use this result to better estimate your chance of developing coronary heart disease or having a stroke. However, this test is a risk assessment tool and does not diagnose a heart attack or locate specific clogged arteries.
