Sulfate, Quantitative, 24-Hour Urine
This test measures the amount of sulfate in your urine collected over a 24-hour period, which is a byproduct of breaking down protein in your diet. It helps doctors evaluate your protein intake and assess your risk for developing kidney stones, as high sulfate levels can affect urine acidity. This information helps distinguish whether dietary habits are contributing to stone formation. However, this test cannot diagnose specific kidney diseases or metabolic disorders on its own.
