> This test measures GlycA, a marker in the blood that indicates the total amount of inflammation occurring in your body. It helps doctors evaluate your risk for future heart disease and monitors how active chronic conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or psoriasis are. This measurement provides insight into persistent inflammation that might otherwise go unnoticed, helping to identify long-term health risks. However, because many different infections or injuries can cause GlycA levels to rise, this test cannot diagnose a specific illness or pinpoint the exact source of the inflammation.
