Citric Acid (Citrate):Creatinine Ratio, Random Urine
This test measures the amount of citrate in your urine compared to creatinine, a waste product used to adjust for urine concentration. It helps show whether your urine contains enough citrate to prevent calcium crystals from forming into kidney stones. Doctors use this result to investigate potential causes of recurrent stones or conditions affecting how the kidneys balance acid. However, this test alone cannot diagnose specific kidney diseases or determine the exact makeup of existing stones.
