> This test measures the amount of genetic material from Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) in your blood or fluid. It helps show if the virus is actively multiplying, which is often checked in patients with weakened immune systems who have unexplained fevers or rashes. By counting the virus levels, doctors can monitor how well an infection is responding to treatment. While it detects the virus, it cannot determine by itself if the virus is the sole cause of specific symptoms or diagnose related complications without other clinical information.
