Prostate-specific Antigen (PSA), Ultrasensitive
This test measures very small amounts of prostate-specific antigen (PSA), a protein produced by the prostate gland. It is frequently used to monitor men after prostate cancer treatment to determine if PSA levels are rising, which may indicate the cancer has returned. This helps doctors track the success of therapy and detect recurrence at early stages. However, this test cannot diagnose the specific location of a tumor or determine the cause of an elevation on its own.
