Histamine Determination, Urine
This test measures the amount of histamine in your urine, a chemical released by your immune system during allergic reactions. It helps doctors evaluate symptoms like unexplained flushing, itching, or sudden drops in blood pressure that suggest your body is producing too much histamine. This measurement helps show whether you may have a disorder involving overactive mast cells, such as systemic mastocytosis. However, this test alone cannot determine the specific trigger of an allergic reaction or diagnose the underlying cause without additional exams.
