> This test measures the level of a protein called CA 125 in your blood while using a special blocking agent to prevent interference from specific antibodies that can cause false results. It helps doctors accurately monitor the progression or treatment response of ovarian cancer in patients who may have these interfering antibodies in their system. By ensuring the measurement is accurate, it helps rule out false high readings, but it cannot determine if a tumor is benign or malignant on its own. This test is not a screening tool for the general public and does not provide a standalone diagnosis.
