Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) Antibodies, IgG
This test measures specific proteins called IgG antibodies that the immune system creates in response to Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6). It helps show whether a person has been exposed to this virus in the past, which is the common cause of a childhood condition called roseola. This screening helps doctors evaluate immune history, especially for individuals with weakened immune systems. However, because these antibodies typically remain in the body for life, a positive result does not confirm a current or active infection.
