Anti-Jo-1

This test measures the level of Anti-Jo-1 antibodies, which are proteins the immune system sometimes produces that mistakenly attack muscle tissue. It helps show whether muscle weakness, joint pain, or lung issues might be caused by an autoimmune disorder. Doctors use this result to help distinguish inflammatory conditions, such as polymyositis or dermatomyositis, from other causes of muscle damage. While helpful, this test cannot diagnose a specific disease on its own and must be reviewed alongside your physical symptoms and other lab results.
