Anticardiolipin Antibodies (ACA), IgG, IgM, Quantitative

This test measures specific antibodies in your blood that mistakenly attack cardiolipin, a substance found in the outer layer of cells and platelets. It helps doctors understand the cause of unexplained blood clots or recurrent miscarriages by checking if your immune system is interfering with normal clotting. These results assist in evaluating whether an autoimmune condition called antiphospholipid syndrome is present. However, this test cannot diagnose a condition on its own, as recent infections can cause temporary positive results that do not indicate a long-term problem.
