Anticardiolipin Antibodies (ACA), IgG, Quantitative

This test measures the level of anticardiolipin antibodies, which are proteins produced by the immune system that mistakenly attack substances found on cell membranes. It is often used to investigate the cause of unexplained blood clots or recurrent miscarriages. The results help show whether you may have antiphospholipid syndrome, a condition that increases the risk of clotting. However, a single positive result cannot confirm a diagnosis on its own, as these antibodies can also appear temporarily during common infections.
