> This test measures IgM antibodies in your blood, which are proteins your immune system makes to recognize Candida albicans, a common type of yeast. It helps doctors evaluate if your immune system is actively responding to this fungus, which is relevant when investigating potential yeast-related health issues. However, because many healthy people carry these antibodies due to normal yeast levels, this test cannot diagnose an infection by itself. It does not distinguish between the harmless presence of yeast and a serious invasive condition.
