> This test measures specific antibodies (IgA, IgG, and IgM) that the immune system creates in response to Candida albicans, a common type of yeast. It helps determine if your body has recognized and reacted to this fungus, which is sometimes evaluated when investigating unexplained symptoms or immune activity. This measurement provides insight into your immune system's history of exposure to the yeast. However, because Candida naturally lives in many healthy people, this test cannot distinguish between a normal presence of yeast and an active infection on its own.
