Brucella Antibody, IgM, EIA

This test measures IgM antibodies, which are proteins your immune system produces to fight the bacteria responsible for brucellosis. It helps show whether you have a current or very recent infection, particularly if you have symptoms like fever and body aches after exposure to unpasteurized dairy or infected animals. This measurement assists doctors in distinguishing brucellosis from other causes of persistent fever. However, a positive result does not confirm a diagnosis on its own and often requires follow-up testing for verification.
