> This test measures specific antibodies in your blood that react to a common type of yeast called Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It is useful for evaluating chronic digestive symptoms because the presence of these antibodies is often associated with Crohn's disease. Doctors use these results to help distinguish between Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, another form of inflammatory bowel disease. However, this test cannot confirm a diagnosis by itself and is usually interpreted alongside other clinical findings.
