Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Profile
This test measures specific antibodies in your blood that the immune system often produces when the digestive tract is inflamed. It helps doctors evaluate symptoms like chronic diarrhea and abdominal pain to determine if they are caused by an inflammatory condition. The results help distinguish between Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and functional bowel disorders, while also helping differentiate between Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. However, this blood test cannot diagnose these conditions on its own and typically requires additional imaging or procedures for confirmation.
