Chlamydia/Gonococcus/Trichomonas vaginalis/Mycoplasma genitalium (With Reflex to Macrolide Resistance), NAA, Urine
This test detects the genetic material of four specific germs that cause sexually transmitted infections, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, and mycoplasma genitalium, in a urine sample. It helps determine if one of these organisms is the cause of symptoms like painful urination or discharge. If mycoplasma genitalium is found, the test also checks if the bacteria is resistant to certain antibiotics to help choose the right medication. While it identifies these specific infections, it does not detect other sexually transmitted diseases such as syphilis or HIV.
