Helicobacter pylori Stool Antigen

This test detects specific proteins associated with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria in a stool sample. It helps determine if an active bacterial infection is present in your stomach, which is often the cause of ulcers, inflammation, and burning pain. Identifying this infection helps rule out other reasons for digestive distress, such as stress or diet alone. However, a positive result does not show how much damage has occurred to the stomach lining or diagnose other gastric diseases.
