# Lipid Panel

> This test measures the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, which are specific types of fat circulating in your blood. It helps show whether you have excess fat in your blood that could clog arteries and increase your risk of heart disease or stroke. These results help doctors identify lipid disorders and decide if treatment is necessary to protect your heart. However, this test alone cannot predict a specific heart attack or diagnose the underlying cause of high cholesterol.
